Allen Seed & Grain is a small custom harvesting operation.
Jed's harvesting season begins at the end of May when he heads south to southern Oklahoma. As the harvest progresses northward,
Jed also has several stops in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and then on to Montana. Jed returns home back to Iowa at the end
of August. His equipment consists of a reliable Case IH 2188 combine that is equipped with field-tracker, chopper & chaff
spreader, yield & moisture monitor, with GPS yield mapping available. Cutting is done with a 30' flex head with finger reel,
which can be locked rigid for cutting wheat. Six & eight row 30" corn heads are used for corn. One grain truck is available
for hauling, supplemented with a grain cart. Jed will work independently for you or along side your machine as well.
Jed often teams up with other harvesters too, so if your job is big or small give Jed a call! Jed is currently taking
employment applications for the 2010 harvesting run. It is the experience of a lifetime! We are flexible with your schedule,
prefering a month minimum commitment. We offer a competitive wage, usually bi-weekly or monthly salary. Lodging (motel)
and one meal per day is provided, plus per diem. It is an excellent opportunity for any age. We would prefer you have a
CDL, but all applicants will be considered, as combine and tractor operators are needed as well. Call Jed at 319-830-9308
for any questions and to set up an interview.
